FX CON 2010 is a congress for special make-up artists, fans of the Gothic subculture and real connoisseurs of horror films, held in the very heart of Europe, the Czech Republic.
For centuries, the Czech Republic has been considered the most mystical and magical land of all, inspiring Franz Kafka, Gustav Mayrink, Viteslav Nezval, Yaroslav Seyfert, Leo Perutc and, of course, Angelo Maria Ripellino. It is therefore no accident that we hold our festival in the Czech Republic – a country where you can still hear the echoes of its alchemist past, where ancient castles hide many magical legends, and where you can run into the mysterious Golem or a procession of ghosts in the streets of Prague (or at least at our festival).

FX CON 2010 is a place where special effects artists, professionals or beginners, can meet each other, compete in their skills, share their experience, demonstrate their art or just immerse themselves in the World of Monsters, Special Effects and Gothic Legends of the hospitable Czech Republic.
FX CON 2010 is a place where you can take part in master classes, exhibitions, concerts and workshops. You can not only learn about new materials and technologies used by special make-up artists, but also see how various film creatures and tricks are produced, as well as attend a unique literary conference dedicated to the Gothic literature and supernatural phenomena of Bohemia.

If you would like to demonstrate your skills as a special effects artist, costume designer, photographer, director, musician etc., then we are looking forward to hearing from you!
If you would like to come face to face with the world of mysteries, secrets, monsters and fantastic transformations, then it is you we would like to meet!
