Brian Wade

Brian Wade’s love for film began when he was six years old. His mother worked in the film industry, and he would wander the back lots of 20th Century Fox Studios, playing with props from ‚‘‘Land Of The Giants‘‘, ‘‘Dr. Dolittle“, and ‘‘Tora,Tora,Tora‘‘. An avad viewer of Science Fiction, Horror, and Fantasy movies, he became fascinated with how these Special Effects were created. As an artist throught his childhood, he was encouraged to combine his passion for art and movies. He discovered books and magazines that explained the Special Effects tecniques,and soon gravitated toward the realm of Special Effects Make Up. By the age of 10, he constantly experimed with special make up techniques. At the age of 14, he began working with a professional make up artist that lived in the neighborhood who appreciated Wades‘ enthuiasm and encouraged his raw talent. This began an alliance that lasted for many years with the makeup artist schooling Mr. Wade in both the art and business of Special Effects Make up.  At the age of 18, Wade was offered the choice of working at ILM on Empire Strikes Back, or to work with one of his Idols, Rob Bottin on the John Carpenter film ‚‘‘THE THING“. He chose‚‘‘THE THING“, and this proved to be a wise choice.

He has been working as a Special Effects Make Up artist for over 26 years. His work has been featured by over 60 magazines, books, and television specials. He has apprenticed with, and worked beside 9 Academy Award Winning makeup artists. He has worked on over 60 feature films, including: CHRONICLES OF NARNIA 2, HELLBOY, THE OMEN, TRIPLE X, BACK TO THE FUTURE 2, GREMLINS 2, NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4 & 5, STAR TREK 4 & 5, TERMINATOR, VAN HELSING, BLADE, HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS, THE   BLOB, THE THING, ENEMY MINE, A.I., and Mr. Wade also designed the title charactors for STUART LITTLE and SCOOBY DOO.
In 1996 he designed the Emmy Award Winning Make Up for the TV show, ‘‘DAYS OF OUR LIVES‘‘. Other telivision work includes, ROSWELL,CHARMED, ANGEL, BUFFY THE       VAMPIRE SLAYER, and X-FILES, and his work has also been featured on “PRIMA TELEVISION“ in the Czech Republic.
