The F/X Con was held in Poděbrady- the ancient city on the banks of the River Elbe. A beautiful castle of King Jiří (George of Poděbrady) and the theatre, which is situated in the castle, were the right places for our festival. This event was held under the patronage of Podebrdy´s Mayor Mr. Lubomir Zita.

This event was opened by Association on protection, propagation, studying and safeties historical and national cultural heritage, i.c.o. and Culturally Information Center.
The participants and guests of the festival were welcoming by the city administration and V.I.P of art and culture such as: Julie Hendrych, Dagmar Cortés, Vaclav Rezek, Jenny Nowak, Andrey Belyanin, Milosh Novak and the unusual guest– Jack Pierce.

The creative persons and journalists share the view, discussed the modern problems in culture and art. The point of views on this matter expressed: Yaroslav Jirzichka - the photographer, Dmitrij Dimov - the film director, J. Brandysky - the painter and restorers, Irena Gregor – the actress, Brian Wade - the star master of special make up effects etc.

The festival’s participants and guests visited with pleasure the exhibition “Phantasmagoria” .
Figures of the movie heroes from XX-the century were created in Vlad Taupesh studio “Super-Phantom”. Among them: Golem, Nosferatu, the Bride of Frankenstein, Monster of Frankenstein, Dracula, Mummy, Wolf Man, Frank Cotton, Brem Stouker´s Dracula, Mephistopheles, Cybercat, Phantom of Morrisvil.

Brian Wade announced the beginning of make-up artist’s competition and they took up competitive targets. Sindy Kumalakanta, Lenka Sekaninova, Ivana Ruzichkova, Natalia Kolesníkova, Vlad Taupesh, Josef Rarach, Natalia Tatarintzeva began to fight for Magnificent Rarach – The Grand Prix of FX Con 2007.

On the court of spectators and the professional jury were presented: Rarach, Spacecharmer, Oceanraiser, Acrylicgirl, Crocodile Virus.

Awards are consistent with the quality of competitive work. All participants receive valuable prizes. The festival guests together with newly created film images posing before the cameras with curiosity and admiration.

Literary line of festival has collected more than 20 writers, poets, publishers.
Authors, writing in a mythological genre, discussed the interesting topic called "The mystical Prague." They told how the historical heritage of the Czech Republic, its myths, legends and fairy tales influenced their creativity. Writers described some mystical events from their own lives, which inspired the authors to write some of their own stories or novels. Frantishka Verbenska, Jaroslav Mostecky, Ivan Mackerle, Guisseppe Maiello, Andrey Belyanin, Karen Mahony, Jenny Nowak, Anna Shohova, Katrin Taileffer - this is not the full list of those, who attended the festival, and whose literary creation is grateful appreciated by readers.

The visitors of the festival had not time for getting bored. In musical line the spectators enjoyed the oriental dance groups HABIBI and Fabien. The rhythmic music and temperament of Italian group NAXIN did not give viewers to sit indifferent on their places. The well-known singer, composer and artist Richard Pachman have charmed the listeners with his excellent voice and nice music.

The photo line was presented by young art photographers Natalia Tatarintseva and Natalia Kolesnikova. The experienced art photographers such as Michal Nemechek and Olga Makarova showed their art too. The visitors were introduced with the art works of cards creator Alex Ukolov. He showed his new work from the cycle “The riddle of Tarot cards”.

The creation and creators of puppets took a special place at the festival. Visitors with great interest learned the history of the puppet theatre and about the people, who dedicated their lives to this art. The puppet creator Marina Makarova showed her new collection of dolls and puppets. The particular interest attracted the author's exhibition by Marta Tsifrinovich.

2007 F/X Con Closing Ceremony. The organizers and Bohemian Cat awarded all participants with prizes and valuable gifts.

At night noisy ghosts left the castle gates and went to the spa town centre. Golem, Turk with severed head in his hand, Zombie, Phantom from Moresfil, White widow, Bohemian Cat, Jewish dancer, White Mrs., and other ghost figures cheerfully walked along the central street in Podebrady. First, the passers intimidated and then they began to laugh.
They understood, that strange and innovative event in castle is finished. Everyone was a lot of fun and a little bit sad. Because it was time to stop, to leave the fairy-tale and to return to the reality. Gandalf smiled kindly: “Don’t worry. May be, we’ll return here… After a year ...."
